Über das Spiel
"Battle City" is a classic NES game released by Japanese company Namco in 1985. Players control a tank with the goal of protecting the base from enemy tanks while destroying all opponents to clear each stage. The game features 35 stages, each populated with 20 enemy tanks, including armored vehicles, light tanks, anti-tank guns, and heavy tanks. The maps are built on a 13x13 grid with diverse terrain, including breakable brick walls, indestructible steel, tank-concealing forests, rivers that block tanks, and slippery ice. Players can obtain various power-ups by destroying flashing enemy tanks, such as grenades (eliminate all enemies), clocks (freeze enemies), shovels (temporarily fortify base defenses), tanks (extra life), stars (increase firepower), and helmets (brief invincibility). The game supports both single-player and two-player co-op modes, with increased on-screen enemies in co-op for added challenge. Featuring a built-in level editor, "Battle City" is celebrated for its intuitive controls, rich level design, and varied gameplay elements, remaining a beloved classic among players of the '80s and '90s.
