The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is an action-adventure game developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by EA, released on November 5, 2003, adapting Peter Jackson's film of the same name. The game faithfully recreates the film's locations and story, letting players take on the role of Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Sam or Frodo, each voiced by the original film actors. Twelve interactive environments await, including the Paths of the Dead, Minas Tirith, the Pelennor Fields, the Black Gate and Mount Doom. A third-person view supports jumping, swinging, firing siege weapons and kicking boulders, while the right analog stick enables multi-directional attacks and combos. A co-op mode lets players adventure with friends, and an Oscar-winning score by Howard Shore deepens the immersion.
