Pokémon Silver Version is a role-playing game published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color in 1999, and one of the second-generation entries in the Pokémon series. Set in the new Johto region, players take on the role of a young trainer who embarks on a journey to collect Gym Badges, challenge Gym Leaders, and capture and train Pokémon. The game adds 100 new Pokémon, bringing the total to 251, and introduces a day-and-night cycle that influences which Pokémon appear and how they evolve. New mechanics include Pokémon genders, Egg hatching, and held items, adding strategic depth and replayability. Along the way, players face new rivals and the schemes of the evil Team Rocket, with the ultimate goal of defeating the Elite Four to become Pokémon Champion. With its tight story and varied gameplay, Pokémon Silver is widely regarded as a classic of the series.
