Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Ruka's Adventure is an RPG developed by Enix and released in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. As part of the Dragon Quest Monsters series, players take on the role of protagonist Ruka on a journey to collect and raise monsters. Through capturing, training, and synthesizing monsters, players can assemble powerful teams to take on enemies and conquer dungeons. Combat is turn-based, requiring strategic use of each monster's traits and skills to defeat opponents. The wide variety of monsters and multitude of combinations give the game tremendous replay value. Carrying on the consistent quality of the classic Dragon Quest franchise, this spin-off remains a fan favorite.
