Super Mario Land

Super Mario Land is a side-scrolling platformer released by Nintendo in 1989 for the Game Boy. Players take on the role of Mario as he sets out to rescue Princess Daisy of the Sarasaland Kingdom. The game spans four worlds, each containing three stages, where players must jump, shoot, and dodge enemies while avoiding hazards and facing off against each world's boss. New gameplay elements like drivable submarines and airplane stages add variety to the adventure. As one of the Game Boy's launch titles, Super Mario Land sold over 18 million copies worldwide, cementing its place as a landmark handheld game.
