Atari 5200
The Atari 5200 SuperSystem is a home video game console introduced by Atari in 1982 as a high-end companion to the hugely successful Atari 2600, designed to compete more directly with advanced second-generation consoles like the Intellivision and ColecoVision. The system used a 6502C CPU running at 1.79 MHz, with 16 KB RAM and 2 KB VRAM, capable of displaying 256 colors simultaneously at a resolution of 320×192 pixels — a significant graphical upgrade over its predecessor. The 1982 launch version included four controller ports, while most competing consoles had the standard two, theoretically providing more multiplayer options.
