Yu-Gi-Oh!

"Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" is a card battle game published by KONAMI for the Game Boy on December 16, 1998. Based on Kazuki Takahashi's manga of the same name, the game casts players as protagonist Yugi Muto, who engages in various card duels and experiences the classic storyline from the original work. As the first console adaptation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, this entry represents an initial attempt at rules and card design, with notable differences from later installments. Players can collect and use various Monster, Spell, and Trap cards to build their own decks and battle other characters. Since the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game had not yet become widely popular at the time, the battle rules in this title differ significantly from later standards, but it laid the groundwork for the series that followed.
