The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy in 1993, and the fourth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. The story is set on the mysterious Koholint Island, where protagonist Link wakes up after a shipwreck and must collect the eight Instruments of the Wind Fish to awaken it and escape the island. Renowned for its rich story and unique setting, the original game became a fan favorite. In 1998, Nintendo released Link's Awakening DX for the Game Boy Color, adding color graphics and brand-new dungeons. In 2019, Nintendo published a full remake for the Nintendo Switch with charming clay-style 3D visuals, preserving the original's top-down perspective while adding new features such as dungeon building.
