Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge is an action game released by Konami in 1991 for the Game Boy, also known as Dracula Legend II. As the second Game Boy entry in the Castlevania series, it continues the story and gameplay of its predecessor. In 2000, it was re-released in color for the GBC as part of Konami GB Collection Vol. 4. Set fifteen years after the events of Castlevania: The Adventure, Dracula returns for revenge and kidnaps Christopher Belmont's son Soleiyu. To save his son, Christopher embarks once again on a quest through the demon lord's lair. The gameplay sees multiple improvements: a sub-weapon system and password-based continue function enhance replayability, character movement is more flexible with the new ability to slide down ropes by pressing A, and the first four stages can be played in any order, adding greater freedom. Retaining the series' classic elements while introducing new mechanics and refinements, Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge offers a richer gameplay experience.
