"Ninja Gaiden Shadow" is a Game Boy action game developed by Natsume and published by Tecmo, released on December 13, 1991. Serving as a prequel to the series, the story is set in 1985 and follows protagonist Hayabusa Ryu during his training days. Featuring side-scrolling stages, players control Hayabusa Ryu through multiple levels, battling enemies and confronting powerful bosses.
