Resident Evil

Resident Evil is CAPCOM's long-running survival horror series, built on tense exploration, puzzle-driven progression and battles against bio-threats born of viral experiments. Early entries used fixed cameras and \"tank\" controls, heightening vulnerability with scarce ammo, healing items and limited saves. Later games shifted to over-the-shoulder and at times first-person perspectives, yet resource scarcity and the trade-offs it forces remain the spine of the gameplay. Across interconnected levels — mansions, city districts, underground facilities — the player uncovers the conspiracy of Umbrella and its successors through keys, mechanisms, puzzles and environmental storytelling. Difficulty options, progression paths and co-op and extra modes let players flex between oppressive horror and action-oriented play — the reason behind the series' longevity.
